The first machine to be invented was known as Baffle Ball. Sixteen years later, pin ball machines started using flippers, automatically transforming them into a game of skill.
Coin operated video games
Galaxy game happens to be the first coin operated video game to be invented in 1971. The invention gobbled up around over £ 15,000. Just a year later, Pong was invented and immediately took the video gaming arena by storm. This was also the first successful commercial game which was played using coins. This game opened up the market as more companies produced more and more games to cater to the growing demand.
